Schedule for the Intensive Course:
The program of 4 classroom hours per day is designed to allow for adequate time to undertake activities outside of the classroom and is organized as follows:

  • 08:00 a.m. Class Begins
  • 08:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Class Time
  • 10:00 a.m. - 10:20 a.m. Coffee Break (free typical snacks and fruit)
  • 10:20 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Class Time
  • 12:00 p.m. Class Ends

Note: The 4 hours program during the high season (June and July) students may study in the morning or afternoon depending on the number of students enrolled and the discretion of the administration; this is done in order to provide you with the best service possible.

Schedule for the Super-Intensive Course:
The program of 5½ classroom hours per day is organized as follows:

  • 08:00 a.m. Class Begins
  • 08:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Class Time
  • 10:00 a.m. - 10:20 a.m. Coffee Break (free typical snacks and fruit)
  • 10:20 a.m - 12:00 p.m. Class Time
  • 12:00 p.m - 01:00 p.m. Break
  • 01:00 p.m - 02:30 p.m. Class Time
  • 02:30 p.m. Class Ends

 

PRIVATE CLASSES

For students that would prefer private classes CPI offers one to one instruction. During peak times private classes could be scheduled to take place in the afternoons.

One to one program
Price PER HOUR private classes:
(This price is for less than 20 hours private hours per week)
$ 21 per hour.
Note: The student can combine the group program (in the morning) with private hours in the afternoon in all the 3 CPI campuses.
Fee to convert 20 hours group program to one to one classes: (4 hours program) $95 per week in addition to the price of group program.
Fee to convert 27,5 hours group program to one to one classes:
(5,5 hours program)
$135 per week in addition to the price of group program.

 

ACCOMMODATION

Homestay
(Available in the three CPI campuses)

Price of the homestay per week,
from Sunday to Sunday:
$150 per person. Note: for 4 nights or more the weekly price applies.
One extra night in homestay: $22 per person
Studio Apartments
(Available in the three CPI campuses)

Private studio apartments, for a maximum of 3 people, from Sunday to Sunday

Contact us

Prices with CPI accommodations include:
Airport pick up and drop off from Juan Santamaría international airport to San Joaquín de Flores (to the homestay for CPI Heredia students and to a Hostel/B&B for CPI Flamingo/Monteverde students).

Homestay also includes 2 meals, laundry service, private room (from Sunday to Sunday).

Space in the studio apartments at the three campuses is limited.

 

MANDATORY EXTRA FEES

Minor Fee

$150 per program for students ages 14 to 17 years, that are not traveling with an adult.

Volunteer Program Fee
$50 for a volunteer program arranged by the staff of CPI.
Note: If this fee is not charged, CPI is not obligated to make any arrangements pertaining to a student’s volunteer work.

Observed Holidays in 2009

We observe the following holiday dates, and no class will be held on these days:

  • Tuesday, January 1st (New Year's Day)
  • April 9th and April 10th (Thursday and Friday of Easter week)
  • May 1st (Labor Day). Day of observation: Friday, May 2nd
  • Monday, September 15th (Independence Day) Day of observation: Friday, September 18th.
  • Thursday, December 25th (Christmas)

For Christmas period, please note: CPI Heredia remains open. CPI Monteverde will be closed for one week from December 22th to December 26th, 2008; and CPI Flamingo will be closed for one week from December 29th, 2008 to January 2nd, 2009. In December, we suggest to combine classes according to the weeks that each campus will be open.

NOTE: No refunds or make-ups will be made to students for days missed due to holidays.

 

Forms of payments

We accept the following forms of payment:
A. Cash in colones, dollars (USD$) and euros (€) B. Traveler's checks in dollars (USD$) and euros (€) C. Personal checks from bank accounts in the USA (USD$)and from bank accounts in euros (€) D. Certified checks and international money orders(in USD$ or €) E. Credit cards - Visa and Mastercard only.

Please note for VISA and Master Card holders: PRIOR to traveling, we recommend that you inform both your bank and credit card company that you will be outside of the country, to unlock or activate the chip or code in your card. Once unlocked you will be able to use it and to pay your school fees at CPI or make other purchases while in Costa Rica.

While it is possible that all students experience difficulty with their credit card, it is our experience that students coming form Europe tend to be most affected by the LOCK CODE regulation.


Welcome

CPI would like to notify you that credit card payments can only be done in Costa Rica with the presentation of the card. VISA cards and Mastercard cards are the only cards that are accepted.

Additionally, the card must be in the name of the student signing the voucher.

Under no circumstance will CPI charge any card via the internet, neither will we ask you for your credit card number by email or by telephone.
